Ever since I was a little girl, I felt a special connection to something greater than myself, even though I couldn't quite understand it. My upbringing was filled with religious teachings, but life had a way of taking me down unexpected paths, and I lost my faith along the way.
At the age of 19, I found myself homeless and in despair after making a difficult decision to have an abortion at 16 weeks. It was a time of immense pain and darkness. But then, something beautiful happened. A kind soul at the homeless shelter noticed my struggle and handed me a book called "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari."
This book became a guiding light in my life, leading me toward faith and mindfulness. I learned to meditate and practice mindfulness, but the deep pain within me persisted, leading me into a cycle of self-destructive behavior and substance use.
In the depths of my despair, I turned to prayer, seeking guidance from a higher power. And miraculously, I felt a calling, a gentle whisper from the universe, guiding me to the Amazon Jungle in Peru.
There, I met a shaman and embarked on a journey of healing through ancient indigenous methods and shamanic techniques. It was in that lush jungle that I began to heal the deepest wounds within me, often rooted in my past. I confronted my low self-esteem and self-hate, understanding that my overeating was a way of coping with pain.
Through rituals, ceremonies, and integration, I confronted my fears and anxieties. After struggling with depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, and other psychological challenges for 18 long years, I can now say that I've found a way to take control of my mind and emotions, thanks to the profound healing power of shamanic practices.
My journey is a testament to the incredible resilience of the human spirit, the power of faith, and the profound transformations that can happen when we connect with our inner selves and seek guidance from the universe.
In my spiritual journey, I've encountered two remarkable sources of guidance and healing: Ayana and Native American shamanism.
Ayana's origins are rooted in the indigenous Oromo people of East Africa, Ethiopia, and their sacred belief system known as Waaqeffanna. In this ancient tradition, Ayana holds a pivotal role as a bridge between humanity and the all-encompassing Waaqa. She serves as a gentle guiding force in our lives, embodying the profound wisdom of Mother Earth and the harmony of the natural world. In my healing practice, Ayana is a wellspring of wisdom, comfort, and direction.
On another path of my spiritual journey, I've been drawn to the tender embrace of Native American shamanism. This timeless tradition has opened doors to a world of deep healing and spiritual insight. Through these experiences, I've come to understand that in past lives, I was a healer who used the sacred gifts of plant medicine to aid others on their paths to well-being.
My connection to the spirit of plants is a precious facet of my practice. Through this connection, I'm granted access to a wealth of knowledge and insight about various illnesses and the unique challenges people face. It's as if the plants themselves graciously offer their wisdom and healing properties, guiding me in my mission to assist others.
At the heart of my healing practice lie shamanic journeys. During these journeys, I traverse the mystical realms of the underworld, the upper world, and the middle world. Each realm holds its own special energy and wisdom. In these journeys, I seek profound insight, guidance, and solutions to the difficulties people encounter.
What is Kambo?
Kambo, a traditional medicine deeply rooted in the practices of various indigenous tribes in the Amazon rainforest, particularly in Peru, Brazil, and neighbouring regions, is derived from the potent secretion of a large tree frog indigenous to the area. This remarkable substance, rich in peptides and alkaloids, holds significant cultural and medicinal importance within these communities.
The process of collecting Kambo secretion involves intricate ritual ceremonies conducted by experienced indigenous shamans. These ceremonies are characterised by profound respect and care for the well-being of the frog and its natural habitat. It's crucial to note that no harm comes to the frogs during this process; instead, it's performed with utmost reverence and mindfulness towards the ecosystem.
Kambo has gained attention beyond indigenous communities for its potential therapeutic properties. When administered, it is often applied to small burns on the skin, allowing its bioactive compounds to enter the bloodstream. Science suggest that Kambo may offer various health benefits, including detoxification, pain relief, and enhanced physical and mental well-being. However, it's essential to approach Kambo use with caution and respect for its traditional roots and potential risks.
